Can anyone tell me the differences between the original guide headlight and the new reproduction ones? Are they in anyway accurate?
    Thanks,

I have a genuine Cycle Ray on my '48, and I had a non-script reproduction. Dimensionally, they are the same, and parts would interchange. However, there are subtle differences in rivet sizes, finish, ground screws, and (most important) the logo on the back radius. Bruce Palmer's latest restoration book goes into all that stuff. Also, Colony makes a kit that replicates the correct mount rivets with threaded rivets. I have to believe that the best way to tell the difference is the reproduction has a deep clear logo, and most genuine headlight shells have a poor, shallow logo

Original chromed lights don't have chromed rivets. Repops do.
