    37 spotlights

What markings should I be looking for on correct spotlamps for my 37 ULH? I know they're Guide but that's about it. Palmers book doesn't say.

'37 would have the very hard to find "Little Beauty" spotlights. The new Guide Deluxe appeared in '38.

Harley used Motolamps from 30 to 37
wwag has some of these https://www.wwag.com/cgi-bin/WebObje...sh&page=!29755 these are made in Poland, some JD owners have said their JD parts are crap, these may be better, don't know.
Replicant has or is working on Motolamps reproductions, check with them http://www.replicantmetals.com/news.html
Originals are rare, beat up and very expensive.

          Howdy chaps,

Restored pair of little beauties at Davenport on a table this year, right side, back by the west entrance, $2,500, went quickly to a Knuckle owner delighted to get them.

What's really hard to find is the five piece interlocking clamp that goes with the Little Beauty and also the Deluxe rear view mirror. Been looking for some of these for years.

                  Howdy sir,

Here’s an original catalogue listing, distinctive for the small rectangular handles on back presumably to align them to illuminate that impending threat (deer) or damsel sashaying down the sidewalk while underway. They are just smaller in diameter than what became later to be the standard Indian/HD spots of the day. These were being sold when spotlights still had exposed reflectors with no body and thus heralding in a new era of style.

Edit: here are multiple images of a pair affixed to a garage find Chief, yes, stems shorter, have seen a variety of mounting methods as other spotlights brackets readily adapted to these that is why it’s become hard to find a catalogue pair.

As listed in the accessory book Little Beauties are chrome plated.

                          Hi Chris,
I don't believe that - I think they were available in black too - see the 1936 accessory catalog page 10 - nothing
described about chrome - picture shows (may be) a black Body ....
They were mounted at my 37 Knuckle as I bought that bike many many years ago and they had a very bad old
(original) black paint and as they were rusty I restored they in the same way . I own the clamps for the crossbar
too as they were mounted in this kind.

I have had little beauties in both black and chrome. They were also sold by various aftermarket sources and are listed in both finishes.

They were made in black. Not sold in black by H-D. The were made by KD Lamp Co. The clamps you show are not Little Beauty clamps. The only thing harder to find than a Little Beauty is correct Little Beauty clamps. I keep hoping someone will repop them.
