There were somewhat less than 2000 made if you read the 1937 Introductory Literature. 1000 or 1001 would have been the first number so I would call yours a mid production bike.

Numbering started at 1000. So yours is the 800th numbered engine. The best production figure we have is from the Presidents report to the share holders. That is "slightly less than 2000 were sold".
