  • Another number question

I understand there were 4117 EL's produced in 1947 but i've seen an engine numbered 47EL111xx.
Would the numbering really have gone into the eleven thousands?
Even starting at 1001 it would suggest 5118 as being the last EL number. , or have I misunderstood the numbering system?

    Thanks
    Steve

47 ran from 47FL1001 to 47FL12648, EL and FL are mixed in this range.

So are E, F, ES, FS, and all other variants. The numbers are by engine Family, so the U series and W series have their own ranges.

What are the ranges for the 41family of E,El, F, Fl's and variants ? It was stated there were 24,000 + bikes produced that year.
