  • Repop vs. OEM Narrow Fender Braces

I have an option to buy a nice pair of 47 fenders that I think would be identical to 1940 fenders except for the wide braces. I have some narrow braces, I think are OEM, but don't know for sure. If they are OEM I am thinking of using them with the OEM fenders. Can anyone tell me if there is an identifiable difference between quality repop and OEM narrow braces? If so, what are the differences? I can find some OEM brace rivets if that is the difference, but if there are differences in the braces themselves, I would want to know that.

    Thanks,
    Vic

Repop braces are not the correct width and have sharp edges. Originals have soft or rounded edges.

Thanks very much, Chris. Looks like I have one pair of original (rear) and one pair of repop (front). I guess I'll be doing a little shopping at Sunshine Meet this coming weekend.
