I am looking for an OEM or NOS "marker" lamp assembly for a 42 EL. I have been asked what they are worth. I realize its up to the buyer and seller, however could I have a ball-park figure that these things would go for. I have not a clue.

Hello Bob, Are you sitting down? If it is the front fender light you are talking about 4-8 hundred dollars for one that is showing wear but is in good condition. An NOS lamp will set you back between 6-1200 hundred dollars. Probably closer to 12.
Hope this helps, John

I have different versions of this lamp. One has GUIDE and some numbers on the bottom edge and the others have nothing. In looking at factory photos I don't see any with this GUIDE marking on them.Be sure to visit;

And I used to buy and sell them for upwards of $20.
Even rarer today is the sidecar marker lamp, identical, with a little red glass "beehive" on the top. It was retained by a stretchy, metal "o-ring" looking spring, much like a girl's elastic ponytail holder.
One of them put me back $25 as I remember, but I lost it in a move.
I remember the New Jersey MV code required sidecars to display "a white light to the front and a red light to the rear," as did many state's regulations. The sidecar fender lamp served adequately.

Is there an accurate repop fender lamp available? I have a nice used narrow brace front fender I'd like to use on a project and it's drilled for the light. Is there something out there with the OEM mounting bolt pattern? I'd hate to have to pay four tomes the price of that fender for a lamp!

I think it was an aftermarket truck taillight in the old days. Cost me $3 in a tiny junk shop/"antique store," and I had the white license-plate-light lens opening blocked-off Small world!

Thangs, Bob. That's "Ol' Tex." The story of how I found it behind a barn 40 years ago is in my sig, under "37UL.com." Tex, Joe Burkel and I have a plan to be at Oley in a couple of weeks. He lives in Nawf Cah-liiiina, and we're in Flah.
Keep axin' kweshchins, Bob. It's how us old farts pass along information. And you get the benefit of a whole jury of experts. Or ol' farts, ennyway!

I've seen more than ten guide housings, and many non-guide housings through the years. my original 39 fender/light I had years ago had a nice crisp "guide PH-6" on it. the original 41 one I have says it too, but not near as crisp as the 39 one. friend has original 46 one, has no guide on it. always thought that through the years of stamping these out and repolishing the "molds" or whatever ya call them, the lettering became fainter and fainter till it disappeared. just my observations.
