  • Springer Rebuild kit -- recommendations?

My 46 EL could really use a complete rebuild of the springer front end. Feels pretty loose. I should do all the friction plates, too. Those just look nasty.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of a high quality rebuild kit?

    Thanks and cheers,

    Sirhr

I think Colony make a great rocker rebuild kit. I made my own steering damper friction disks out of phenolic sheet that I got from McMaster Carr. I don't know if that's what the original were but the phenolic seems to work well.

As Eric says Colony has the rocker rebuild kits. They also have the fender lock plate kits in case yo have broken tabs or juts think they need replacing. I have used them several times and they work fine. They also have a rebuild kit for the steering damper as well. If you just want the spring and the fiber washers then Old Dude has those. You can go to Colony's web site to see the kits and what is in them.

Colony also has the spring rod bushings. Bruce Linsday makes the friction discs.
