  • 1936 knucklehead transmission

I am into panheads mostly, but I have complete transmission that is '36 case, 48 kicker cover, ?? handshift top(sandcast but haven't gotten the cover off). It has no cracks in the case, but 3 of 4 mounting bolts need replacing and there is some corrosion/pitting on bottom that needs repair. The kicker cover has a small 1/4" hairline crack. The gears shift well but I have not inspected inside yet(cover screws seized, neat heat). This is the first '36 case Ive ever seen not on a bike and don't really know its value. A friend of mine has tons of panhead parts and is interested in doing some trading. I thought maybe someone could give me an approximate FAIR value to have in mind while trading. Thank you. pics can be seen at http://www.hydra-glide.com/index.php in the Panhead forum under "transmission case identification"

If it's a true 36? Sounds rough but the kicker covers worth $200 clams. I would guess $850.00 for the package. I saw the pics and it's going to take some work. Bob L
