  • Brake Light Switch Question??

I was going through some 39-57 style Brake Light Switches and found an oddball one? At first glance it appears to be the standard switch that mounts to the Frame near the brake crossover. Looking closer I noticed the shaft coming out of the switch that the pull would attach to does not have a hole in it? And it is spring loaded but the shaft pushes inward into the body of the switch? Any ideas on what it might fit? palmers book page 415-416 does not mention it?

Sorry, no photos. It looks 100% identical to the 39-57 parkerized Switch except that the Pull Rod coming out of it does not have the hole for the spring. I also just noticed the drain hole is at the back bottom of the body unlike all the others i have that are up front. I also noticed looking at all 5 switches i have here in fron of me how the "Bell" end of the bodies are all slightly different. Also the protrusion that comes out of the back through the bracket all have slightly different shapes and sizes also. I know it is a common thing for the slightly different variations on many other types of parts. 46EL

I though Sportster switches had totally different brackets on them that are not in any way like Big Twin Switches?

Yer probably right. I just remember XL switches were push me's and not pull you's.

It might not even be HD. At car meets over the years I have seen a few unexplainable versions of this switch. Or possibly topper or gulf cart.
