    JD Tank Anomaly

    Working on a friends 28 JD. The oil tank had a dip stick like device installed.
    It was done long ago judging fom the paint condition. The Main tank was also modified with a second bung.
    Found it interesting. Anyone ever seen this before?

    Who ever did the 'dipstick' modification was a talented craftsman and that is a feature that would have been most desirable on a total loss system. My 1917 Henderson has a dipstick just behind the oil bung. Not featured on '18 and '19 Hens.

      Yes who ever did the dip stick modfication was talented. Looks factory almost and it makes practical sense, unlike the second bung on the main tank.
      I cannot fathom what that would accomplish. Wish I had gotten a better picture of it.

        the dipstick is from a model A ford.
