TIG weld repair on 1910 HD case

I need to make a minor cosmetic weld repair on my 1910 HD engine case motor mount. Can anyone tell what TIG wire to use on the aluminum casting? 4043?

I believe filler metal is needed. A motor mount bolt hole is worn oversize until it created a gap at the case edge.

Ken, can you take a picture of the area to be repaired? Sometimes, if it is a superficial repair, it can just be fused with the t.i.g. torch, and zero rod is used.

Ken, that is a little more than a..."minor cosmetic weld repair''. Appears to be the rear of the motor engine mount? Looks like a substitute oversize bolt was used and left a thread score plus a break because of the larger bolt dimension. If it was i, i would flood that hole cavity and then drill the correct size, using the good hole as an example.

*Prep hole with a file or use a carbide grinding bit. But, be very careful not to take off excess parent metal!
*Use acetone or mineral sprits to clean, or use torch to blast out impurities.
*Place/clamp a piece of brass or stainless under the mount and work the side of the hole that has more aluminum and go outward toward the split. you can do it all in one pass, or you can flip the casting. *You could also tack the crack first and then proceed with the flooding of the hole. Either way, remember, it is only aluminum, you can always start all over with a bit of grinding if it is not satisfactory.
*I would use 4943~5356 or 4047. All are good for cast Aluminum welding. *(3/32)

Thanks for the specific weld wire. I found that the 2 hole JD motor mount plate matches my good 1910 motor mount, so I will use it as a template.
