  • 28' JD Leaking oil tube above engine

My 1928 JD is leaking oil from this area and onto exhaust. Two wrenches barely fit to tighten the nuts. Is there a rubber seal or other seal that has failed that needs to be replace? I don't want to strip the threads.

I would check the oil level in the crankcases first. Any more than say 8 ounces and oil will come out at the weakest point.

that is a typical leak on a jd. there are no seals on the adapter fitting nor the tube nut, however you can always put some thread sealant on the threads to attempt to lessen the leaking.

Thanks for responding, I overfilled the crankcase with oil and have since drained the oil. I have added the proper amount of oil.
