Information on LH JD case

I have a LH case for a J/JD, that looks like it is an aftermarket casting.
It has "LYNITE" cast into it which I assume is the manufacturer.
Cast marks of 2-18 year design, with "AL" cast in below that.
Belly no starting with "IO"
Looks to never had an engine no stamped on it.

Has anybody come across these castings before?

Mick, i don't think i'm recalling incorrectly, but i believe Indian advertised their motorcycles having Lynite pistons. surfing 'net, found this - Lynite is the trademark used by the Aluminum Casting Company in Cleveland. That is definitely the same trade mark.
I wonder when they did these J/JD castings?

LYNITE appears on the underside of JD transmission cases for some years. I’d have to go into the warehouse and start looking at the underside of a bunch of cases to nail it down for sure.
BTW; the line bore number on your left case is 1920.

I assume LYNITE produced a number of parts for Harley's over time. Where these produced as aftermarket, or were they contracted to the factory at different times? I think the case I have has never been fitted to a motor. For some reason, the drive shaft outer race is only half way installed.
Looking closely at the casting, it seems to be more porous than the OEM castings, so I wonder how good they actually were.
