    Dear Mark, wow that is tight. I'm building a mix of copper oil seals and sealed bearings these days, so it's hard to generalise. I'm also running the gearbox for a few minutes in each gear on the bench, then re-checking mainshaft end float after this. Quite often I have to adjust again as the initial stiffness comes out of the box. This applies particularly to the VL reverse and four speed boxes as there is an extended trial period required in order to set up the shifter forks.
