Left Side Mainshaft Nut, 1928 JD 74 inch, 3 speed

Twice I have purchased the incorrect LH threaded nut to secure my clutch. I need a 11/16" x 24 thread LH nut and lock washer for this application. 2275-19 is not correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would say the correct thread is more like 3/4" x 18 tpi, so maybe someone has cut down your mainshaft and rethreaded it. If you have not already overhauled your box this may be a good time to look inside.

Steve is right, you got something that was screwed with. I just took a brand new 2272-25 shaft off the shelf along with a 2275-19 nut and it screwed right on. Hope this helps, Bob L

Wow, could be, tranny is done complete with sealed bearings and new rollers. Guess I will just live with the custom nut that was installed. Thanks again. These bikes are interesting to say the least!
