Below are pictures of an original Harley tool that I recently picked up in a small pile of JD parts. As shown, it is for loosening and tightening the large nuts on the rear hub that hold on the sprocket as well as the brake drum. It is piloted on the axle as you can see. A real nifty tool and much better than the alternative (a hammer and punch)
I'm considering making a run of these. I would cast them out of 4140, machine them and then heat treat them to 42-45 HRc.
I'm guessing that the unit cost will be around $125.
I'd like to hear from anyone that would want one so I can decide if it is worth the cost of the foundry tooling, etc.
