    Can someone tell me what these holes are for ?

    They're for accessory electrical terminals (spotlights, police handstop, etc.). I forget the details, but I think early had neither of the four holes you indicate, then they added the two on the side and finally later the two on the top front. Since you're working on a 48 I think that's the correct bracket for it ... Perry

      The holes in the side show up on the 1947 prototype. The top holes show up later on the Servicar.
