The adapter is what I expected, Motorviking, Thanks!

But the long intake on the casting throws me, as none of the vintage pics I've snagged show it, so far... (Joe's knee is usually in the way...)

I see it upon your head in your conversion-to-OHV thread, but cannot tell if it is removeable; Its hard to imagine it was cast that way (but its easy to imagine taking a hacksaw to it, if it was.)

I believe the GX-4 bolts directly to 10-26 (diagonal).
To fit AMX12 - there is a flange/manifold to change diagonal 2 bolt to straight 3 bolt. 9BE5574B-3CC2-40B4-BD9C-294AA07FDE5F.jpeg1EDAAFF0-38A3-4A4E-B6A9-8BD4EE371CE3.jpeg

    I'm still confused, Motorviking,...

The flange upon the cylinder casting that the adapter bolts to is horizontal, whereas the flanges on GX models (as shown in #6) are at an angle.

The adapter in your pic reminds me of one for a Hen, which was horizontal:

    Or this one...

Did HD GXs bolt to an adapter?

Although it was usually on the bottom of the flange,...

I have also found "serial" stampings on a DLX88, but it was on the side of the flange,

And to further confuse the catalog bowl offering, here's a bronze bowl for potmetal DLXs with a 'lid':

Was it just whacked that way?

    Alcohol makes sense, Motorviking!

I remember that listing when it was Indianmotorbikes.com.
The format is new, but it still has the same old errors (like "M351", etc.)

Back to barrels, the idle needle from an AMX-12A proves to me I have no clue how the carbs operate:

And I really wonder about the modern reproductions...

PS: So how do any of these bolt up to an HD single?

Here are what I call 'inspection' stampings on potmetal models,

(Two different DLX113s, both stamped upon bottom of manifold flange...)

I had to enhance your pic a bit, Motorviking!

    AMX-12A stmp.jpg

    And here's another to compare:
    image_33959.jpg
(Note no serifs on A, no base on 1)

So we must wonder what variation the A denoted.
The little 8 on your AMX13 is the size I usually call 'inspection' stampings...

    (AMX 8 stamped behind flange.)

    We may never know..
