    Another mystery part

I have had this in my "what is it for" box long enough. Time to find the answer. It is parkerized 7/16" hex, 2 1/2" long. One end is 1/4-20 threaded with a chamfer and the other is 12-24 threads with deep countersink that is steeper than the normal 83 or 90 degrees.

Is that a stand-off for the Hydra-Glide voltage regulator?

Then it beats hell out of me There are so many weird-ass parts out there. I worked as a machinist for many companies and there was always something coming out of engineering that defied description. In naval talk they called that flotsam, or jetsam. . . . Machinists call it B.S. I have a cabinet of drawers that is full of stuff like that.
