      I used to own a 40s 45 but I quickly realized they are quite different beasts.

      I've just acquired a copy of what looks like a 'bible' for older machines. A restoration Guide by J. Sells. Very useful.
      Lo and behold, a photo on page 4-10 showing my carb.
      So that's solved!

      I have another query and hope you could advise me further: I took off the primary case for a look-see and fiddled with the clutch arm on the end of the gearbox..

      The round end plate, the outer part of the bearing, fell out. The only thing holding it in position was the clutch actuating arm. I can waggle the circular plate behind the arm.
      Is that correct or do have I a missing component?

        Johnny's book is great, CBall!

        But we still don't know which carb you have;

        We only know it is a replacement.
