  • Mousetrap grease zerk

    Hello,
I have been seeing 2 types of mousetrap grease zerk fittings, one is straight and one is angled. Any help on years from one to the other would be great? I have one with the angled fitting.
Thanks for any help in advance!

I have never seen a mouse trap with an angle grease fitting in 40 years. Hell I could have missed it.

Meaning the ALU body was tapped straight and tapped at an angle. I should have been more clear.

Early mousetraps lack the reinforcing rib at the top where the cable adjuster threads in.
I have no knowledge of the angle of the zerk, but it's something I'll watch out for.

Sometime around 1955-1956 they got the reinforcing rib and the angled zerk!

I just checked my unmolested panheads and according to my bikes the angled zerk appeared sometime after 58FLH3665 and before 59FLH6032.
