Hi
I just got a 1917 sidecar for my HD 17-F, and the VIN number is a bit difficult to read.
The number looks like:
1 7 L 0 1 5 7
What i can clearly see, is 1 7 L followed by something that lookes like 0. The 1 5 and 7 are clearly visible. Between the 1 and the 5 I cannot see any number, but as there is a gap between these digits, it makes me wonder if a digit should be there, as on the later frames I have seen there are 5 digits after the 'year and model' code.
I now wonder if the 1917 sidecars had 4 or 5 digits in the VIN and if they started out with a 0 as the first digit.
Can somebody please help me with this one??
thanks in advance,
