    I posted this message about a year ago, still need the carb!

    Linkert M17 carburetors
    I have a 1942 Harley XA. It has been in the family since out of the box. Several years ago, my father-in-law removed the carburetors to have them rebuilt. In short, they mysteriously dissappeared. I desperately need a M17L Linkert to keep this bike original. If anyone has information that will help me, please contact me.

    The reason no one has replied is that th XA uses unique carbs, both are stamped,one is M17L, and the other is M17R.If I remember right these carbs are the mirror image of one another.

        There was a few XA's in the hands of some of the older gents in FLA a couple years ago at Eustis. Might be a good place to look, and soon too.
