  • H-D Eagle Fender Tips?

I wanted to ask around and see if anyone had details on the Eagle Fender Tips (7-1/2” wide) which came on the restored ’48 Pan I bought. After researching my late model ’48 (high VIN), I discovered I needed 3724-48A (front, new p/n 59215-48) and 3724-48B (rear, new p/n 59885-48) new p/n fender tips which I’ve found.

Were the original Eagle tips the same part number sans different year? Who manufactured the tips for H-D (like Fox who manufactured tank emblems)? Did the original tips have a manufacture’s name embossed on the inside of the tip?

I plan to sell these tips to help finance a VL motor build and if anyone is interested before I post them on ebay (on 22 Dec 13) - send me an email. These tips are chrome plated brass fender tips (brass seen at bolt holes & non-magnetic) tips with CAD plated hardware, in very good condition except a slight bend where the rear stand rubbed/touch the tips. I can send high res photos too. I’d rather see a club member use these tips!

    Thanks

The tips carry a 3722-42 part number and appeared as part of the '42 Deluxe group. They were one of the most popular accessories ever and fit any fender back to '34. As Chris pointed out, yours appear to be reproduction. They have been reproduced since the '70s.
