I'm new to the club and starting restoration on my 1929 C. It's been in my family since before 1940, but was a farm toy for years. So use your imagination for the condition it currently is in. It's a rolling chassis with a free turning crankcase and transmission, but several parts are missing (fender, horn, lights, exhaust, coil, etc...). I'm gathering used parts as I find them, but that can go slow. Unfortunately, most of the reproduction parts I see on the net that say they are correct for a 29 C are not. Are there vendors for reproduction parts that are acceptable in the AMCA judging program? Also did the singles use a different coil or did they use one outlet of the dual lead 6v coil?

I'm pretty sure that the 29 single used a coil with one high tension lead. I dont think that the dual lead coil will spark if you only hook up one wire.

Thanks for the information. I have a more questions though. What fender would be correct part number 3701-29 or 3702-29a? I believe the -29 is notched for the forks and the -29a is not. I've seen both on them on 1929 C models so I believe what it comes down to is, is it the early or late 1929 model. If this is true what VIN denotes the change to the late 1929 model? And, would this also be true for the exhaust? Four tube version versus 2 tube. Thanks again for the help with this project.Comment

Hi all,
Trying to get my 29 ready for the Texas ride, but have one major problem. In the 1930's my uncle decided the best way to secure the sprocket to the rear hub was to weld it on. While it still has not come off the entre rear hub is basically useless. Does anyone know where a good rear hub or rear wheel assembly for a 1929-32 C or DL may be available? Any assistance locating one will be appreciated.

Does anyone know the thread pitch for the 2300-28 Countershaft? It's out of the little 2 bolt transmission for the 29 C and DL.Comment
