I'm not sure if this is in the correct location for this post (first time!), but I'd like to know if there's any historic significance to this Extra Wide custom 16" Harley Rear Wheel. I attached some photo's of it. Someone cut two rims and welded them back together to make this unique wheel with a 4" width. I obtained it from a friend of mine who is in his mid-70's from Wisconsin and obtained it in the late 50's or 60's, but can't exactly remember how he got and it's been sitting around ever since. There is very old canvas tape used to protect inner tube from the spokes instead of rubber. It had a 45 brake drum attached to it.
Was this used for hill climbing? Thoughts?
