    jd transmission mainshaft split bearing

Following on from mreds post, where can I get a split bearing for my 1925 J model? I am in the UK and no-one is keen to make one with the keyway pressings etc
How do I get around this problem & what is the best material to use when it comes to soldering the pieces together. Thanks duffy

Dear Duffy, I'm also in the UK with several used 2277-25 split bushings to root through if you wish. I still think the early mainshaft is a poor design, and the groove for the bushings acts as a stress raiser at the edges. I'd change to the 1931-36 mainshaft, but easy for me to say as I've had a batch made.
