    28--29 Brake Shackle Question

    The brake shackle for my 1928 J model has offsets on both ends. One side has longer offsets on both ends and the other side has short offsets on both ends. Which side goes toward the brake side cover. Any help appreciated....Rod

    Dear Rod, if it's like the VL then the shortest offset goes at the front towards the brake side cover. Check the forging number to make sure you have the right one.

      Thanks Steve.. I mounted the shackle as you suggested and it fit up very well. There were no numbers on it at all. It came with the brake set up when I bought it....Rod
