Has anyone out there ever seen footage of the training that WWII soldiers did as far as riding or seen any kind of class type work?
My Dad was a messenger in WWII but since he died a long time ago I can't ask him. He rode an Indian and also a Harley Davidson. I have photos of the Indian but not the Harley.
    Thanks for any help, Mike

I knew a retired CSM who serve early WW2, North Africa, Korea, and VN,
    Triple CIB recipient.
He started as a scout-said they just tuned them loose and they had at it.
    Texas, I think.
He said the bikes conked out regularly and they just left them to be rcovered.
He was at Kasserine pass and hated the bikes. He crewed the worthless half track AT guns and ended up in Italy getting a Silver Star while running M 20s.
He ended his career as a CSM in Special Forces.
Wrote a book called "Seeds of Endurance." A very crustly old guy.
    RIP, Rudy.
