  • Hey Chris

    Do you think that
"Larry the Library Guy" is really "Indian Larry"? If I send rare off breed stuff it goes on the site in about 3-6 weeks, rare Harley about never, rare Indian 3-6 hours.158 Indian pieces and 76 Harley to chose from on the site

The guy who set up the Virtual Library is Larry Barnes, who acted it out under the ideas of Steve Slocombe. This is an area that the Club is looking for volunteers to help scan, etc..... Bruce Linsday has offered his vast collection for scanning, but it is a very time-consuming affair, but in process.
This is a perfect example where we can help the Club, rather than hinder it. Volunteer info is on the Home Page, under the "About" heading. Thanks to all those who have sent in literature to be copied for the cause.

    Many Thanks, RF.

I've tried several times to send literature but nothing has appeared, so I gave up sending anything in.

Well this is all a shame. Are you guys saying that you sent in material to Larry to get scanned for the library, and have not seen it available on the Virtual Library yet? The bottle neck seems to be that there is only one guy doing the scanning. He claims there are issue with the quality, and the AMCA water mark that prohibit just anyone else doing the scanning. But I believe this is being looked into.
As for now, the back up is a bummer. We need to be able to allow more volunteers to do the scanning. It is a massive project, and a good one. But we do need more volunteers.
Thanks for every ones patience & input on all of this, RF.

as usual, you are wrong again!!! the Virtual Library was an idea that Rocky and myself came up with to highlight the Winners Circle bikes, and it grew from that.
the original feature took a back seat once all the material started coming in.
Larry has done an excellent job with this endless project, and made many members happy

No I sent items in a PDF that I scanned and they never ended up in th library. I tried the Become a Donor link to send some stuff in a couple of times about a year ago but all I got was gobblede****. I gave up for a while and then I finally found an e-mail address and sent a few PDF files in. Nothing ever happened so I quit sending stuff in. I now scan and send files to people I know that are interested in whatever I might have.

The astericks on the end of gobblede gee ook are not mine. My word got edited.

I didn't start the thread to ram Larry ,but if more volunteers come out of it, thats cool.I was just curious if HD had put some issues from using their stuff and thats why chris's stuff never showed.I want to thank Larry for the work he has done

I scanned as original Miami catalog and emailed to Larry, although it took a month or two it is on the library, he even put my name on it as the donator. I was wondering if the project is still up and running? Thanks to Larry and all the volunteers who work for the club.

I am saying that I actually scanned stuff and sent it to him.
