My "Pirate" copies of Nicholson's...
Modern Motorcycle Mechanics, Second Edition (1945): American; Harley & Indian sections excerpted, are no longer available, as the result of a very civil and polite request I received from the last copyright holder.
Those 133 pages scanned from the 67-year-old book amount to the VL Model Service Manual that the Harley-Davidson Motor Company never printed, along with his Indian information. We look forward to the copyright holder soon following up with his plans to publish a complete CD reprint of the long-out-of-print tome, that we can all use and enjoy.
Those dozen or so folks who wrote me promptly got a copy of the homemade scans I made of only the American section of the 2nd Edition, the "meat," for a VL or and Indian guy. I hope he goes through with his plans to have the whole series professionally scanned and published to CDs. I'm sure that, between the American and British bike enthusiasts who can benefit, plenty of copies will sell. I'll even buy a copy, just to see what it looks like.Last edited by Sargehere; 04-02-2012, 09:50 PM.

Canadian Copyright Law
From: http://users.trytel.com/~pbkerr/copyright.html
"Copyright comes into existence automatically, at the time the work was created, and, in the case of most works, it continues until the end of the calendar year in which the author of the work dies (regardless of whether the author has sold or assigned the copyright in the work or not), and continues for an additional period of 50 years.
"One very significant right granted to the owner of Canadian copyright in a work, is the exclusive right to reproduce the work, (or any substantial part of the work) in any material form whatever."
