    Can anyone help me locate a grease gun for the alemite fittings??? Colony makes a coupler..$55 dealers cost $80 retail ???? it's a GREASE GUN !!!! standard or giant couplers cost $10-$15....what the....

    You are not thinking about how many can be sold. If you are in business you have to amortize the cost to make your investment back plus make a profit. There are several parts involved in just the head for the gun. Each part cost money to design and make. Standard Zerk fitting grease guns are sold by the thousands. How many Alemite units will be sold? A general rule is to take the total it takes to make one unit and divide it by .35. So if you spend $15.00 making a part your wholesale price to make a profit would be $42.85

      i bought the coupler but never used it. just grease everything with a standard zerk then take it out and screw in the alemite fitting.

        We sell two styles of those at half or a quarter of that retail price you mentioned.
