  • Anyone know where I can get a pre- 1940 45 outer primary conver??

I've been looking for the correct outer primary cover for my '37 HD as I have an incorrect one on the bike right now and want to get the right one.

    Thanks guys!

I see them on eBay all the time but they are very spendy! There is a repro one available now but not sure who is doing it. If i find it I'll post the info.

        3801-32

Here are a few photos of the correct original primary covers for your 1937.
outer cover # 3801-32, the two piece inner primary cover, inner upper
        # 3804-32, inner lower #3805-32 and the very hard to find back slot
cover # 3812-29. I have also included photos of the repop outer cover, which I think was being sold by David Sarafin at the Davenport meet last year. I don't know if He still has them, they were selling for $350. Good Luck.

I saw several of the repops for sale at Oley this year. 45 restoration had one on their table. Maybe Way Back Wheels had one also. Anyways the repops are around.

Erdos, what were they selling for? I was wondering if 1776j has the correct
frame, trannie and clutch hub, if not, buying this would be a waste of time and money.

I can't remember what they were going for but it was more than I wanted to spend at the time for a repop. The $300 range seems about right. I too am putting together a 37 wl and need many parts.

Yes, check out Replicant Metals. Tom Feeser makes excellent repos. I have a set of his primary covers on my 1940 WLD (with the narrow clutch assembly) it fits perfectly. Very good quality, not cheep.
