  • Seat Post Spring Sets

I scored what I thought was a lower spring set for my 45” yesterday at a local swap meet. They are still cosmolined and in the original packaging. The wrapper gives the number 3128-29. I started looking at Palmers book and it refers to these lower springs as being 3128-31. Before I tear the post out, can someone tell me if they are both the same? Just made in a different year? -Steve

Steve....your nos package should contain (2) 3128-31 flat cushion springs, (1) 3129-31 cushion spring, and (1) 3138-31 guide collar. Paps

Hi Paps, Good to hear from you. Yes the package contains 2 springs which are about 5" lenght, a single spring of 2-1/2" lenght and a collar. So the individual springs are the -31 items and the complete kit of three has the -29 number? Now I get it. Thanks

Heck no I don't mind, I paid the $30. asking price for the set. It wasn’t a steal, but still ½ price from after market, and I need them so they will be put to good use.

I managed to yank the post out tonight and I need a lot more parts than these three springs. This old girl is showing her age, but nothing that can’t be fixed.
