Factual? Yes, I guess that is one word that might apply. There are many more that work as well or better. ;-)

I took my 1930 VL in stock rebuilt condition including saddlebags up to 81 mph on a UK airfield the same day I got my '34 up to 103 mph. There's an article about it in an old AMCA mag. That six extra horsepower, all above 4000 rpm, from the Y-manifold and new cylinders on the TNT motor really helps. By the way, that's the 1935/6 style rear muffler on your bike, I guess a factory replacement when they stopped making the 1932/3 type with the perforated fishtail. But that original paint on the front mudguard is a great find...
Thanks for the kind words Steve.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a TNT motor and what makes it one? I sure could have used an extra six horsepower out there - above, below or at 4000 rpm.

The TNT motor was the later VL with the redirected intake ports. "Y" shapped intake instead of "T" shaped.

Hope you get it finished soon so you can try a Maxton Mile run - what a lot of fun. And it shouldn't take much for a well tuned high compression VL or flathead 80 incher to beat my record. BUT be warned, I think Dale Walksler is busy building an assault weapon for the Maxton Mile too.

            Should be fun.

He will have to do quite a bit of extreme high tech to beat Tom "Rodan" Evans 137 MPH UL.
