We have a little ride planned for sunday, i'm putting the buddy seat on, its a 35 VLD. i think i have all the right hardware, but the helper spring hits the top of the toolbox. did i do something wrong,or do i have the wrong parts, or do i have to tell the little women she has to lose weight, i really don't want to do that.does someone have a drawing of how it all goes together
    thank you in advance, dave

Dear Dave, the VL buddy seat parts were made only 1933-36, and you usually find the later repro parts at the swap meets, and these do not fit properly. There is a picture in my VL book of the 1935 set-up, and careful study of the parts book can also help decide what you have. Checking the seat plunger can also do no harm, as the standard spring set-up was for a 150 pound average rider - those were the days.

      Best regards,
