  • WLA Seats

This inquiry is for those members that own a WLA with an original post June 1942 seat with the 3 buttons on each side. Is the leather strip that is rivited to the bottom of the seat pan dyed the same color as the seat or is it painted olivie drab as the seat pan?

If this helps, the attachment shows a sample.

Although I suspect that the pan itself has been preserved with a dressing, there is no apparent coating or paint upon the binding strip, which I believe was horsehide until the end of the vegetable-tanned era.
