1930 VL Saddle color

I'm in the market for a Messinger 3 saddle for my 30VL project. Headed to Raalte this week and want to buy one while there. There is from a company in Poland seems to make a nice re pop The question is should it be Tan or Brown?
I have seen both colors on excellent 30's.

But wouldn't it depend on how many times the seat has been sat on? I mean that a tan or light brown color leather will get darker as it ages. OR how it was conditioned over time.

The saddle colour depends on the cow and then the stain, and various shades from a lightish tan to a darkish brown can be seen. I wouldn't deduct judging points for different shades of brown. Those Polish guys should see you right.
