Correct install for peak seals

I am preparing to install the carb. and intake manifold on my 1937 UL the seals have a bevel on one side. should the bevel be facing the manifold nut or the cylinder head. And any other suggestions for the install THANKS if you can help

It should not only face the nut, Idfly,

Their angles should match; Many (but not all) of the failed mass-produced seals that crossed my benches could be blamed upon funky aftermarket nuts, at least.

The flat face of the seal should butt up against the face of the nipple, which should be inspected and dressed as necessary.

The condition of the manifold spigots and a tight fit of the PEEK seals is critical, especially since mass-produced seals used the minimal outside diameter of stiff brass seals, instead of maximizing it for the compliant plastic.

Be sure to leak test as Tom always encourages. I’ve found that the nipples and nipple rivets often leak also.
