Hello, I have a couple of questions if I may. First is about a 1960 service car. Where the vent line goes back to the oil tank the bolt at the banjo fitting has a slight oil leak, see picture. I am not at all familiar with the inside of the oil tank but I assume the vent line went straight up and ended above the oil level so as not to get oil into it? If that's the case I'm assuming there must be some type of a seal where the vent tube goes into the tank? Second question I think I know the answer to but just wanted to get a verification. I also have a 1953 servi with a lot of shade tree mods it has number five aluminum heads and what I think is the 34 mm mikuni carb. The 60 has iron heads and an M18 Linkert the 53 has much better performance with power and torque, would I be correct in assuming that the high compression heads and larger carburetor would account for this better performance? Hey that's a great picture! So looking at that I'm thinking the vent tube is attached to the bottom of the tank and goes up above the oil level? If that's the case should I be able to take that bolt out and correct the copper washers without draining the oil tank?

Found this divot at the base of the tank also carried into the copper washer but it lapped out. Found the third washer to be made of brass and was necessary so the banjo bolt did not bottom out. Thanks to all for your help.You do not have permission to view this gallery.
