Chas. Abresch Co. sticker for Servi-Car box

Hello.....I am restoring a '49 Servi-Car and have been searching for a Chas. Abresch Co. decal for it, 45 Restoration carries them but has been out of stock for some time now and he isn't sure when he'll have more. Would someone be so kind as to take a photo of an original decal and give me the exact dimensions of it? Also, I believe it is placed on the underside of the lid, towards the back, is that correct? Thanks so much for your time.

Thanks for that email, I just emailed Rick.
I am retired now, but I used to make decals for diecast toys like Matchbox and Corgi and I still have some equipment, so I want to make my own because I read somewhere that the font on the aftermarket decal is different from the original, so that is why I wanted a photo of an original, to double check for accuracy.

I just heard back from Rick's, he no longer has them, but can have them printed, only in vinyl, unfortunately. This just reinforces my resolve to find an original in order to make my own waterslide decals.

That is a good question, paddy, and would be another source to get a photo and dimensions of an original, if they are the same. I wasn't aware they also built those, but I can't imagine they would change decals. Can anyone with a sidecar take a photo of one?

Robbie, you are the only one that has said they have seen this decal. Could you please take a photo of it and give me the width? If texting a photo to a phone would be easier, please let me know. Thank you.

I looked at mine and it has deteriorated considerably since I saw it last. I may be able to get basic dimensions but it looks pretty poor.

I have a '46 sidecar that I know hasn't been touched since 1978 so I'm pretty sure that the decal on the backside of the seat is original. That said, there are now water slide decals available on Ebay. I ordered two (one for my '43 servicar and one for my L&W sidecar) and they look great though I havn't compared with my '46. Let me know if you would like me to look.
Does anyone know of the exact placement of the decal on the underside of a servicar box lid? Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck......You bought those decals from me on eBay, thank you very much. I still haven't seen an original lid with an original decal, so I am unsure of placement. If you find out, let us all know, and I'll do the same.
