M51 float material

    Could somebody help identify the material this float is made of. It came out of a M51 on a UL. It is tight to get in and out of the bowl, so i think it is incorrect or swollen. It feels like some type of

    It looks like a Tedd's "Gary Bang" urethane, Mick!

        Just for Posterity, Folks,..

        This showed up in the fossil record in a very late Chief, similar in appearance, but not urethane:

        Note 'skin' over a foam interior; Two of these crossed my benches in "barn-find" carbs, showing how little we know.
