I heard they are making re-pop Linkerts of questionable quality. I wonder if the bleed is the same design.

"I asked the artificial intelligence 'co-pilot' on my wife's PC, and it directed me back to me." I would take that as a compliment.

      To be a compliment, Deebs,..

It must be at least sentient.

The one repop I outfitted was EDM'd, ugly, and we will never know how it performed.

The Corbin/Tedd offering is obviously un-finished: Why ain't it black, and why don't the knobs match?
The zinc can be patinated to fake cad, but why is the choke cam (and AC screws) park'd? (The shaft should be flash nickle or cad, from what crossed my benches).
Gotta love the copper bowl cap.

I bought a pan chopper with a Ted’s Linkert. It didn’t want to tune right but in all honesty I didn’t keep the bike and I never bubble tested the manifold. It was a 1960 with rubber manifold seals.

Thanks Otis, I was wondering if someone here had an experience with the repro Linkert.

They've only been in the catalog a half-decade, Deebs,...

Yet Otis is the first brave enough to admit he handled one.

            The singular repop that crossed my benches wasn't Tedd's;
Although I haven't inspected Tedd's offering, I did rescue one of their "rebuilds".

Cost more to do than a barn find.

PS: Back to fuel economy, my philosophy is to get everything as close to "blue print" as possible.
But there may be a 'hack' to overcome the vertical throttle problem!

Can you explain why a vertical throttle shaft is problematic? I imagine they were used to keep the control cable from having another bend.

I would have to pretend, Otis,...

That I actually understood these things.

The manifold goes fore and aft, so an up and down disc favors one cylinder more than the other. A horizontal disc evens the flow between them, and therefore more efficient..

That's my narrative, and I'm sticking to it.

PS: Wouldn't it be great if there was a 'hack' around this?

                It was patented.

                  That makes perfect sense. Thanks.

I guess the hack would have to be based on two separate carburetors/separate manifolds. Now each cylinder is even.

Twin BMW Bing carbs. Constant velocity with slides. With those long manifolds it must take a minute to accelerate.

                        Let's keep it simple, Deebs!

Just divert the flow over the nozzle with a horizontal foil (#11):

                        patentA.jpg
Turbulence should spread the emulsion laterally, reducing the bias effect of the disc.

That's pretty cool. Any units in existence? Was this offered for sale at one time?

Since the Wigwam owned the patent, Deebs,...

There may have been prototypes, but production is doubtful.

Fuel economy wasn't a big deal after rationing ended.

PS: L&L finally achieved a horizontal disc with the DC series, and they were phenomenal.

So I guess that's the idea behind this? Trying to overcome that vertical throttle shaft?

Turbulator turbulence might help a little, SS!

But its a reversion dam too.
