  • No used Harley 45 rear cylinders

Been searching eGay for a used 1941-up 45 flathead cylinder. Many front cylinders for sale but no rear. Why is this. I thought front cylinders ran hotter and wore out faster. Just curious.

You're looking in the wrong place Buster. Maybe You can twist these guys arms to ship? I found if you're polite & grease their palms a little, they usually do ship.

      I thought so too, Buster!

Perhaps its just better business to sell off the crap first.

Thanks for the replies. On the Marketplace Listings, the first listing seems really high. Maybe I’m not realistic on prices. There are quite a few front cylinders on eBay in the $100-150 range. The second listing is near me but all thee cylinders are front. I’ve got a couple more swapmeets to go too, maybe there.

45 parts started getting hard to find and expensive when all the hipster "Bobber" guys started buying them for bar hoppers and TROG bikes since they were cheap. Forks were being put on Triumphs, Hondas and everything in between. When I built my 47WL in the early 90s basically everything in the engine was NOS surplus parts other than the cases. New cylinders, heads, complete crank assembly, main bearings, cams, oil pumps, timer, hardware, that stuff was all over. All tough to find now. The last NOS cylinder I saw on eBay was in the $1800-2000 range, fronts are still showing up about $300...
