VL Fender Difference vs Knucklehead

When I bought my 35 VLD years ago, it came with a re-pop rear fender without the hinged portion. So I wondering if my re-pop is correct and, in addition, how the VL hinged part is different from Knucklehead and Panhead rear fenders (other than taillight holes)?

It isn't. The rear section of a '36-'38 Knuckle is the same as '34-36 VL and the '39-'46 as well as '47-'48 will attach and line up. '49 and later do not since they are one piece and not three.
