  • Primary Drive Torque Specs?

What do you guys use for torque on the Engine Sprocket and Clutch Hub Nut on the 45s? The book only says "tight", and Palmer's engine section seems not to make mention of it. Hours of Googling yielded a wide range of results, but nothing I trust.

    Thanks!

Since there were no specs back in the day, JSB,

Any modern specs would be arbitrary anyway, based on fastener diameter, etc.

With a proper torsion torque wrench, you can feel it creep up to "tight".

Then you can read it,... and then you can tell us!

    ...Cotten
PS: No torqueing would ever be totally accurate unless the assemblies are held secure.
The clutch hub can be held with a stripped clutchplate welded to a handle that reaches the ground.

Usually, I could safely lock up the motor sprocket with a lead auto wheelweight.

Kinda what I figured, Cotten. I went with my old standby "tight plus 1/8 turn".
