  • 1930 generator wiring question

Hello, I need help figuring where to connect the red and black wires on an original 1930 generator. It has no external terminals like the later 32E. I have the wiring diagram that shows the generator but not sure I’m reading it correctly.

Appears that the black wire goes from relay to positive brush. Figuring out which is the positive brush without taking the generator apart is the question!

Positive brush will be the one insulated.

Thanks for the ideas. The book and diagrams were some help but was still confusing. Upon closer inspection I got lucky and found a couple tags and one said “S” for switch. Low and behold the generator works great now
