Does anyone have the Delco part number for 71469-65 solenoid. Are they all made in China like the one I got just over a year ago? Thanks in advance.

    Probably Jug!

Please note that if you are indeed working upon a Flatty, the MOCO produced the electric start on Servis a year ahead of the BTs, as it appears by literature, anyway.

So it is an assumption that the -65 or -65A would also apply.

Have you an original to compare?

PS: I gave many solenoids a second life by flipping the copper-clad contact washer, and cleaning the cap contacts of course.

I discovered the hard way, Folks,...

Weak batteries eat solenoids, even OEM.

Maybe found the problem. Jumping would make it good for next day or two. Seemed like coil was weak. As Cotten says take apart. Looked good but touched coil ground wire and had to resolder it. It works now but time will tell. Found out this one was made in USA. Thanks for the good advice from you guys but dont stop now. Keep it going

The solenoid coil is only as good as the battery, Jug!

If the battery is weak, the contacts will arc and burn,.. again.

              What he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

even a slightly weak battery will eat a solenoid.

and, you’d rather eat a solenoid than under feed current to a starter motor.

cheap solenoids aren’t always the evil cheap batteries are.

Cheap batteries worked for me, Chuck!

I just never tried to get four riding seasons out of them.

PS: That saved generators, too,.. even more than solenoids.

If I need to buy one what brand seems to be a better choice?
