  • 37 UL valve covers leaking

    valve covers were not leaking really bad when i first started the motor after the on rebuild . i have nearly 800 miles now and it has started leaking really bad what is the process for stopping the oil leaking. Can i do it with out removing the cylinders any ideas will be greatly appreciated THANKS if you can help

    You should have the screwed together valve covers, like the VL, and it is possible to replace the rubber seals without lifting the cylinders. Originally the parts book showed these seals as strips with angled ends which were easier to install but less reliable, so you may be able to improvise something along these lines. Also check the problem is with the seals, and not some oiling or breathing issue, with leaking oil the symptom.
