How is the gas tank on a 1935 VL vented? Thanks

Through the cap.

Never mind. The cap is vented. Question…Should the oil cap be vented? Mine is not.

No the oil cap is not.

Thank you Rubone! Engine kept cutting out and finally notice the caps got switched. Never thought about it.

The JD gas caps are vented through a hole in the top, and take a leather gasket. The VL ones are vented through the side and the gasket is not fitted.
